Hi, I'm Brittney
Eating well and being healthy have always been an interest of mine. After all, it feels good to feel good, right? I went to school for clinical herbal medicine, then became a certified health coach, and learned more and more about diet and nutrition, and I loved it!
Then, somewhere along the line, my passion for natural health took a turn to obsession. My diet ideals went from balanced guidelines to obsessing over each meal being "perfect." I was counting calories, weighing every ounce and gram of food, and working out militantly. Later, due to all the restriction, came binge eating.
My obsession with food led to a preoccupation with my body. My self worth became completely tied up in the size and shape of my body. In our society it's not enough to be healthy, we have to meet a new standard of fit, where you're thin, yet strong, and your butt looks like an apple.
All of my mental an emotional energy was spent on this obsession with health and fitness. I lost sight of who I really was. I couldn't think of who I wanted to be or what I wanted in life.
So, I stopped. Stopped dieting. No more militant exercise or berating myself for having fat or not eating the perfect meal. I reconnected with myself, my true self. I began the path of intuitive eating and engaging in movement I actually enjoyed.
I would love to bring you along on this mission to reconnect to your bodies innate wisdom so you can enjoy your life, and cultivate a loving relationship with your whole self. We should not have to sacrifice our mental and emotional well being to be healthy. I can walk you through it.
